Silence or Encouragement, What's your advice ?

3 reasons why it is important to encourage reporting sexual violence.

Sexual Violence is definitely an issue being faced by our society. This can happen at public transport, at workplace or even at home. This not only gives the victim the physical pain but also mental agony. The society treats the victim as the main culprit. o the question is should one report the crime or just remain silent for the fear of being judged by the society ?

Reason Number 1
I believe we should come together to report any kind of sexual violence faced anywhere and anytime. This will create fear in the mind of the offenders, If they have a fear that no one is going to keep silence and society will punish the culprit instead of the victim, than sexual violence can be curbed.
Somewhere I had read that for some youths some lewd comments to girls is just fun. If we report any violence b it small or big these types of me-too offenders will have a sense of fear and it can be curbed. Also those youths or people who thought they can go scot-free for such crimes will fear to do so. If we report it will act as  deterrent for these people.

Reason Number 2
In this age of smartphones and a lot of recording devices the offenders are not only committing the crime but recording it also. Their purpose, fun, entertainment, uploading in a porn site, showing to friends and most importantly blackmailing the victim for money & sex. If we will not report the violence the ordeal will continue for eternity. So we must report any type of sexual violence at once, who knows what the offender has recorded and when he is going to blackmail the victim. The quicker we report lesser is the chance of circulation of such videos and more the chance of catching the offender. Also if there is punishment offenders will fear to repeat such crimes.

Reason Number 3.
There is a old Bollywood song which says.

Kuchh toh log kahenge, logo kaa kam hain kehna
Chhodo bekar kee bato me kahee bit naa jayey raina
The meaning is the society will say anything, why should we always care about it. This holds true for a sexual violence victim. Why she should feel ashamed instead of the offender. Let us encourage her to report any sexual violence faced by her. Let us all condemn the offender not the victim, afterall what's her fault ? Let her live the normal life once again instead of the offender.
